A dependable roof is the most important aspect and investment you can make for your home. That''s why choosing the right contractor is the biggest decision for your project. We strive to make our customers well informed and confident in their purchase.
SHINGLES -
Asphalt shingles are the most popular and economically roofing product on the market. The newer Dimensional/Architectural shingles have unique color variations that add a wonderful look to any home. We are an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor. There are other quality shingles on the market and we would be happy to discuss them with you. We will use what ever shingle company you are most comfortable with. We will never pressure you into choosing one product over the other, we will just inform you of the differences.
TILES -
Tile roofs are a staple in Florida, because of there durability in extreme weather conditions. Tiles are more expensive then shingle roofs and can last longer then most shingles depending on the underlayment and proper installation. The majority of roofing tiles are made out of Concrete or Clay. Tiles come in many different styles, shapes, colors and quality. If you would like more information or visit a showroom to view the different types, give us a call.
FLAT ROOFS/LOW SLOPES -
We use a Modified Bitumen roofing system on all of our flat/low sloped roofs. We use either a torch down or a peel and seal product. It's the most durable and long lasting roofing product for residential flat roofs. The main reason for flat/low sloped roofing problems or premature failure is ponding water. If water is ponding on your flat roof, we will install an ISO board tapered system to create a pitch. ISO board is a Polyisocyanurate Foam product that comes in 4x4 pieces with varying slopes. We measure your roof and then create the best tapered system to fit your roof. The system not only creates a run off for rain water but it will also add insulation to your roof and give it an "R" value that varies dependant on the roof dimensions.
There are many different options to consider. Please contact us, to discuss product options that will best suit your needs. Also, check out the "Choosing A Contractor" page for tips and hints on selecting the right contractor.
Vinyl Fascia and Soffits not only add a great look to any home but they also serve as an important component to a Balanced Ventilation system. Do away with the ugly appearance of wood soffits or strip soffits and never worry about painting or replacing rotted wood soffits again.
It doesn't matter how much roof ventilation you have, if you don't have the proper soffit (intake) ventilation. Without the proper ventilation system, the roofing manufacturer may not warranty your roofing products because improper ventilation greatly reduces the life of shingles and underlayments. A Balanced Ventilation system also will reduce attic condensation and attic temperatures resulting in lower energy bills. For more information and products that will help you achieve a "Balanced Ventilation System," give us a call.
Many times you will not need to replace your roof. A leak could be as simple as a nail hole or an unsealed vent/boot. We repair Tile, Shingle and Flat roofs. We believe in being straight forward and honest with all of our customers. If we don't think your roof is repairable, then we will not sell you a repair. There comes a time when band-aids on a leaky roof is just not a wise or economical route to go. Roof repairs can add up, and if your roof is past it's life expectancy, you can expect to need multiple repairs in a short period of time. Why spend $2,000 in repairs, when you can spend that money towards a new roof? Some things to keep in mind and some things we won't do.
We will not repair Tile Roofs past there life expectancy. Projects like this can be very costly to the homeowner and frustrating for both of us. Tiles are attached to the underlayment via concrete pods or a foam adhesive. On most roofs, every time you pull up a tile you are creating another leak because part of the underlayment comes up with each tile. The only way to discover a leak in a tile roof is to remove tiles. So while your looking for one leak, you are creating potential leak hazards that need to be addressed. The older the underlayment the harder it is to patch/repair because you are tying in new material with old brittle material. Which can be difficult to get a proper seal.
With older flat roofs, it becomes almost impossible to tie in old material with new material. It may hold for a little while, but it's sure to fail. Same thing for flats that hold a lot of water. Ponding water will break down the roofing material and when attaching old material to new,l the seal won't hold very long.
We will not repair shingle roofs past there life expectancy, or that have lost the majority of there granules. Shingles become permeable over time and they are more susceptible after they lose a majority of there granules.
The bottom line is it comes down to quality and honesty. We strive to only do quality work that we can stand behind. We've had customers get upset when told we wouldn't give them a price to repair their roof. We just try to be honest. Would you be more upset if we sell you a $500 repair with no warranty only to have the roof leak reappear on the second rain?
If your roof is leaking we will be more then happy to come out and inspect the roof to determine if it can be repaired or if we feel it needs to be replaced. It's not a matter of us only wanting to make the "big sale." There is good money in the repair business, it's an easier and quicker job generally with less scheduling and weather implications. We will be up front and honest with you and always strive for quality work that we can stand behind.
